This style of helmet with hinged cheek pieces was used by the Roman praetorian guards, which were formed under this name in 138BC and existed until 312AD.

The helmet fits a head size of up to 65cms.Inside length 24cms (9.5" front to back) and 19 cms (7.5" side to side)

It was handmade from sturdy brass and weighs abt. 2.6 kg (5.7 lbs.)
